| no partners | | 10:30 AM: Trailhead Arrival Started the hike at the Holbert Trailhead. The cool December air was refreshing, and the sun was shining brightly.
Holbert Trail The path meandered through rocky terrain with saguaro cacti and creosote bushes, offering an invigorating climb with views of the Phoenix skyline.
National Trail Challenging terrain with steep inclines rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the valley below.
Break Took a short break by some granite boulders, enjoying the serene desert surroundings and a quick snack.
Kiwanis Trail Moderate descent with stunning rock formations and native flora. Spotted ground squirrels and various birds along the way.
Las Lomitas Trail Easy and relaxing end to the hike with rolling hills and scattered boulders. The gentle rustle of the wind added to the tranquility.
Return to Trailhead Wrapped up the hike as the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The adventure was both physically and mentally rejuvenating, a perfect escape into nature.
Reflection: The hike through South Mountain Park was a blend of challenge and beauty, with perfect weather and stunning landscapes. This experience left me feeling refreshed and connected to the natural world. |
