Canyonlands National Park to Hite, UT

Canyonlands was where we began at Big Spring Trailhead

We hiked the very obvious Confluence trail about 6 miles maybe to the Green & Colorado Confluence overlook.
We then hiked 1.5 mi back to Cyclone Canyon and in to "The Grabens"

We camped a few miles from the river to get 6L each, water enough to last the next 24 hours.

Day 2.
We stayed in Butler the rest of Day 2 and Day 3! It's a looooong wash! Lots of wildlife, especially coyotes!
Kissing dinosaur rock Landmarks were my favorite :p

Right before Butler ended we found a rain pocket and filled up 2L each, this was delicious water.
We then climbed out of Butler this was what I call Secret Valley.

Night 3 we camped in "Secret Valley" which was an absolute joy to do!

There were plenty of water pockets to filter from in Secret Valley.

no water on Dark Canyon Plateau.

In Dark Canyon night 5 - reliable running water throughout the entire Canyon but it smells like decay.

About 8 miles from Hite on night 6 -no water.

When we reached Hite we camped on the NPS Visitor Center porch (hehehe) and restocked at (or emptied out) the tiny convenience store before bedtime.

I had to head back so I hitched 180 miles to Moab...the lady and her husband who ran the convenience store in Hite drove me all the way to Blanding where I caught two more rides and then a hotel room in Moab... My best friend, Dalton, made a burn run from Salt Lake to Moab and back for me and i caught a flight to Phx a few days later after some good dayhikes in SLC.

My other half is still out there hiking as I type this. He'll finish at Lee's Ferry on Nov 22.

Until then...Hike on!

May 18, 2017 Edit: The lady and her husband from Hite Marina are running the convenience store there again, go say hi if you're in the area and send her my thanks again!! :)
