Lemmon Pools...
I've been there before, but it's been YEARS and I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to it's precise location... If I recall, it's close to where Lemmon Creek intersects the Wilderness of Rocks trail - somewhere down stream of there. Anyone able to give me a better idea than that? Might be fun to play down there while I'm camping in a couple weeks...

Re: Lemmon Pools...
Hike downstream from where the W. of Rocks trail crosses the creek. It's dicey. Wait until Mikehikes gets back from his Diamond Down river trip and ask him. I don't think I have been all the way down to all the pools, only to some of them. I've heard that the further you go the harder it gets, and sometimes you really have to go way up along the sides, the higher up the better, in order to get below some of the waterfalls. One old-but-good book with this hike in it is Trail Guide to the Santa Catalina Mountains by Pete Cowgill and Eber Glendening. But if the fire went through there it will be different now than when the book was written.
I have hiked way down Upper Sabino, too, from Marshall Gulch on down. That was really nice, too. Before the fire, of course.

I "think" the crosshair is the crossing were we cooled off
http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?L ... &M=6&G=986,
However, Nick said it was running better than normal that year. Perhaps you have to work down creek in dry times, I dunno.

Re: Lemmon Pools...
I was just down there a few weeks ago. It is not to far down stream from where the creek intersects the wilderness of rocks trail. The pools were really fool and the waterfalls were flowing good. The pools are somewhat difficult to reach. I am 20 years old and fairly athletic and in good shape and i had a little bit of trouble getting down. However, when you do get down to the pools it is definitly worth it. If you decided to go down into the canyon be very careful. Have fun.

On one of the backpacks I lead down there for SAHC in the late 80's Randy Scholes stated that skinny dipping just wasn't the thrill it used to be. Probably account Randy was blind with macular degeneration. He was still backpacking though. They don't make folks like him anymore!

Geez, that does date you!
Lemon tree very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
