Description: Mining mills were large buildings, sometimes located at the mine, and sometimes a ways away from the mine, where the raw ore was processed. This varied from simply crushing or heating ore, to complicated chemical baths and washes, interspersed with crushing and heating. The goal, at the end, was to have a good product, whether it was a gold or silver bar, yellowcake uranium, or marketable copper. Some mills (or smelters) are still in operation in the southwest.
