Rolled out for a first time check of this area, getting a late start on Saturday. Was supposed to be two of us hiking, but ended up as a solo. (Another reason for the late start.)

Easy run out, ~2 hours from the house to trailhead, probably a dozen vehicles out there. Road was great. Ran into the occupants of about half of those vehicles on their way out as I hiked in.

I probably hiked a bit farther upstream than I needed to, but got the full flavor of the creek. Water flow was optimal, and nice and refreshing. A couple of the falls gave me a moment's confusion and commitment, but soon enough I got to the pool above the main falls, after seeing a party headed up canyon led by a teen who wasn't having any of that huck. :scared:

I was worried about the anchors after the accident and write-up, but that proved to be no concern. I geared up and set the rappel with no drama. I might invest in some legit canyon line if I do much more of this sort of thing - lugging out 150' of wet 11mm was a chore. The one guy I passed carrying a kayaking life jacket looked like a good idea, but I just blew my Camelback full of air and had a very relaxing time with the swims.

All in all a great trip - will do it again I'm sure!
