Needed some elevation so I cheated. :) Actually I went up this morning to finish section 22 of the AZT from north to south. My plan was to hike from Mt. Peeley to Mormon Grove and back. One problem. The main gate is now open BUT FR25 and FR25A are still closed. Bummer!

It actually worked out okay because I had to meet some folks this afternoon and I was cutting it kind of close. Mt. Ord made for a nice fall back plan.

Skies were super clear and the views of Roosevelt, Bartlett and Four Peaks were fantastic. I saw 10 different people coming down while I was hiking up. Then on my way back down they were heading up. I asked them what the occasion was and they said they were training for the Grand Canyon. First down and then up. I'm thinking, Mt. Ord probably isn't the best training grounds for the Canyon but I suppose it is better than nothing. Nice to see so many people out enjoying the day.
