Canyons are inherently risky. Flash floods occur without notice on sunny days. Technical skills & surrounding topography knowledge required yet does not eliminate risk.

Syllabus
Water Canyon - Vermilion is a 3 mile round trip canyon trip with 1,200 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 24 miles west of Kanab Utah. Trailhead access is via a dirt road which is typically car accessible when dry. April and May are the best months to enjoy this activity. This hike involes off trail navigation. Review triplogs, photos and the route to understand the terrain before heading out.

Overview: The long route may have rappels up to 170 ft, the shorter route (which we did) has rappels up to 100 feet. The 2nd to last rap into the narrows is only 100 ft despite online beta indicating it was 160ft. With a zipline it may be 160 ft of rope.

Can be done as a hike or a technical canyoneering trip.

Check out the Official Route.
