McFarland Spring via 4WD - Mogollon Rim is a 1 mile round trip 4x4 trip with 247 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 56 miles south-southeast of Flagstaff Arizona. A high clearance 4x4 vehicle and a competent driver is recommended to access the trailhead. May and October are the best months to enjoy this trip. This hike involes off trail navigation. Review triplogs, photos and the route to understand the terrain before heading out.


Overview: This usually reliable perennial spring is often approached by a short off-trail hike from the Houston Brothers Trail and can also provide an overnight backpacking campsite area as well as providing a spring water source for treating.
