If you are in the area, Two Guns Ruins and the Apache Death Cave are interesting historical sites near Meteor Crater. Two Guns, a once-thriving Route 66 Wild West tourist attraction, offers visitors a taste of the Old West with ruins of a zoo, gift shop, and campground from the mid-20th century. The Two Guns site was originally named after the Canyon in the area, which was said to resemble a "two-gunned" figure.
The Apache Death Cave, which is part of this site, holds a darker history. In the late 1800s, during conflicts between the Apache and Navajo, a group of Apaches took refuge in this cave, which ultimately became their tomb. Legend has it that they were killed off or suffocated by a fire set at the cave's entrance.

You can explore the many old remnants of the Two Guns trading post and the Apache Death Cave. The cave can be entered if you have the nerve, as some say it is haunted. I only went partway in.
When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example.
