June 2014 It's been years since I've pushed the envelope on Camelback. Last week I jogged to the saddle then realized I didn't start my stopwatch. Which threw my enthusiasm out and I crawled the rest of the way.
Instead of jogging I just held stea
• 8th Grade - Canoed the Illinois River
- Muskogee OK
• 2010-2012 - AZT
- Finished 800 miles Mexico to Utah
• 2013 - Isis Temple
- Rope Free
Camp Goddard may have been the best experience of my life. In the 8th grade I got a shirt stating I'd canoed the Illinois. Perhaps a few miles, loved the experience nonetheless. The Arizona National Scenic Trail was made possible by the great members of HAZ. Albeit semi conscious, Isis Temple is hands down the most gratifying memory.
Dad didn't grasp HAZ but enjoyed witty banter. Whenever HAZ surfaced in conversation dad would ask "joe, why hike arizona?". To which I'd respond with an ear to ear grin, because dad... it ROCKS!
