Overview: Alto Pit Off-Highway Vehicle Site and Campground is located on 400 acres of ponderosa pine forest roughly 7 miles northwest of Prescott, AZ. ATV and dirt bike riders enjoy 20 miles of motorized trails, 2 cross-country areas, as well as a designated children's area. Trails and cross-country areas are for vehicles 50" wide or less. The campground has 11 campsites with tables and grills. The day-use site has picnic tables and restrooms.
When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example.
WARNING! Hiking and outdoor related sports can be dangerous. Be responsible and prepare for the trip. Study the area you are entering and plan accordingly. Dress for the current and unexpected weather changes. Take plenty of water. Never go alone. Make an itinerary with your plan(s), route(s), destination(s) and expected return time. Give your itinerary to trusted family and/or friends.
Only trailheads with six "amenities" have fees. Amenities are picnic tables, trash, toilet, parking, interpretive signing and security.

To hike From its intersection with Willow Creek Road, travel northwest on Iron Springs Road for approximately 5 miles to the Alto Pit OHV Area on the right. The road is paved to the campground and graded dirt in OHV area.
