Pleasant Valley Vista Loop #9 is an easy scenic loop on the south side of Young with lovely views of Pleasant Valley.
A pullout just south of Young on Highway 288 has Scenic Overlook signage, a quarter-mile from either direction. The pullout for enjoying the scenic overlook has a sign showing a brief history of the area, including the Pleasant Valley War. The small parking area a bit east of this spot is where the trailhead resides. However, there is no signage to give it away without investigating a bit further.
Pleasant Valley Vista Loop #9 is an easy lasso loop suitable for nearly all ages unless balance-impaired or mobility-challenged. Three benches are spaced at near equal distances for those that may need a breather at the somewhat high elevation.
The trail is well maintained for the area and may be the best-groomed trail in the area. Snow may undoubtedly be present during the winter months or late autumn, or early spring.
