The Separation Lake Trail is located within the Three Sisters Wilderness. The trail accesses Separation Lake (keep an eye out for the junction and a bridge that crosses the creek). The trail continues past the lake and connects with Horse Creek Trail No. 3514.

From McKenzie River Ranger Station, drive east on Highway 126 about ¼ mile to Foley Road No. 2643. Take Road 2643 about 8-1/2 miles to Road 480. Continue driving for about 2 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road
