A multiple-use trail. Expect varying types of use, from hiker to horse, bicycle to motorcycle. Popular trail, especially the lower end due to its proximity to Durango. The upper section of the trail follows Hermosa Creek. Fishing is good to fair the entire length. The entire Hermosa Creek area is grazed by cattle. Beaver are prevalent in some streams.
