A marvelous view of the peak's rugged north face and surrounding mountains and valleys spreads out below this timberline viewpoint. A 5.2 mile trail following an old road heads southeast from here and drops into North Pit, an abrupt glacier-carved cirque. This trail connects to Barr Trail and Barr Camp. This is a great photo opportunity area.
When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example.
