South Apache Trail is 4.3 miles long and is considered hard. The trail starts at 7,300 feet and gains 2,300 feet to 9,600 feet. THERE IS NO ACCESS OUT THE BOTTOM OF SOUTH APACHE TRAIL, ALL LAND IS PRIVATE.

To hike The South Apache Trail # 1311 can be accessed from the Bartlett Trail, which is located off State Highway 165 and Ophir Creek road (FSR 360). Head Southwest on FSR 360 for about 12 miles then left on Greenhorn FSR 369 for about 17 miles, the trailhead is at the end of the road.
