The first 1/2 mile of the Devil's Playground Trail (also known as the Banana Rock Trail) is shared with the Crags Trail. At the Y, bear right and cross the bridge over the creek. The trail follows an old road to just below the timberline. Above the timberline, the trail crosses the Pikes Peak Highway. The trail parallels the Pikes Peak Highway to the Summit. Please follow the rock cairns above the timberline to protect the fragile tundra. There are beautiful views in the distance of mountain ranges to the north, south, and west of Pikes Peak.
Camping is permitted along the trail and is recommended 300’ from any trail or stream. Use no-impact camping techniques. Pack it in/Pack it out rule applies. Campfire permits are not required but please be sure your fire is dead out before you leave. Respect other trail users.
When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example.
