West Jefferson Trail #643 is a 5.53 mile one way hike with 1,699 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 51 miles west-southwest of Denver Colorado. August and July are the best months to enjoy this hike.
West Jefferson Trail goes up to the Continental Divide and an 11-mile loop can be accomplished using the Colorado Trail for the return trip from the Divide.
It is difficult to access Jefferson Lake Recreation Area during the winter months. The road to this site are not maintained for snow throughout the winter.
