Syllabus
Apache Junction Fissures is a 2.3 mile round trip hike with 100 feet elevation gain. Located 9 miles east-southeast of Mesa Arizona. The trailhead is car accessible. December and January are the best months to enjoy this hike.


Overview: Pinal County has several areas like this in which earth fissures have opened up. The phenomena is believed to be occuring due to the continual draw on the water table.

    Park at Baseline and Meridian in Apache Junction. The fissures come from the northwest of this intersection, cross Baseline and continue southeast, then fan out in several directions.
