Best of the Best! by imike Pine Tree National Recreational Trail... proclaims the sign at the trailhead! This exquisitely oriented BLM campground is host to a variety of hiking trails and routes, but by far the standout is this exceptional looping route. It winds up and down... around... twisting among the rock gorges... Stop and listen... you will hear the gurgling of hidden streams. And, Always... you are overshadowed with the towering spires of the Sawtoothed Organ Mountain Range. The Rabbit Ears... Baylor Peak... Organ Peak... and the Organ Needle just a few of the outstanding spires jutting out above. The trail is sunny... then shadowed. It goes steeply up... then it ambles gently around. It winds in and out of drainages, the views ever changing...ever spectacular. You can even enjoy a few overnight campsites along the way. Though only four miles it can provide a day full of fun. What more to say... this is one for everyone! Note There is a Day Use Fee... Hours of Operation: Winter: 8-5 May expand 8-7 in Summer. Check out the Official Route and Triplogs.
