Expand MapHike up Gold Basin along a good trail to a nasty looking pond. However, if you continue off the official trail (on game trails and unofficial trails not in the statistics above) you can explore the entire Gold Basin Cirque area with several beautiful little alpine ponds, but beware the bears.

    To hike
    From Moab, go south on 191 and take the Manti-La Sal Loop road up into the mountains, turn right at Geyser Pass Road, and then turn right to the road into Gold Basin. At the end is a trailhead.
