Overview
Picayna (Picayune) & Placer Gulch is a 6.4 mile one way 4x4 trip with 1,250 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 41 miles south-southeast of Montrose Colorado. A high clearance 4x4 vehicle and a competent driver is recommended to access the trailhead. September and June are the best months to enjoy this trip.


The Picayna Gulch trail is part of the Alpine Loop Trail system.
