Very Remote / Peaceful / Scenic / Off-Tr Hike Exploring by Grasshopper Warning
This vehicle campsite is located at a very remote area of the Sierra Ancha Mountains within the Tonto National Forest. Some drive sections into this area require a capable 4WD Vehicle with High Clearance and quality Off-Road Tires. This campsite is also located at a scenic 5734 ft vista highpoint with available shade trees (oak and juniper) and is susceptible to wind and lighting strikes during seasonal weather conditions. Overview This awesome, vehicle campsite offers remoteness, solitude, exceptional short/long-distance views, shade, a fire ring, and a central basecamp for numerous options off-trail only short and long-distance exploring Day Hikes and 4-Wheel Scenic Drives. It should be noted that this campsite area is quite rocky and will require some rocks relocation for multiple tent campsites but is nicely suited for in-vehicle camping.
The historic and private 82 acre JR Ranch is in-view at a distance from this campsite area and viewable along numerous off-trail exploration hiking routes and driving routes. Various historic mining claims are also within this general area.
