Access for all by nonot ![]() Warning I would recommend anyone using a wheelchair for the trail to ensure it has working brakes, and wear gloves. Overview This is a wheelchair-user-accessible trail that connects the Upper Lake Mary Day Use Area (#2?) to the Lakeview Connector Trail (and Lakeview Campground.)
Funded by donations from the Wood Family, a memorial plaque can be found along the route. Hike This designated wheelchair/disability accessible trail is paved for the entire portion. As of 2022, the pavement is in good condition. There is ample parking at the Upper Lake Mary parking lot (though there is a parking fee per vehicle). There should be no problems for any wheelchair traveler to do an out and back. The trail climbs at a mild grade over 0.5 miles until it reaches the Lakeview campground road at the start of the Lakeview Connector trail. It will go through a tunnel under Lake Mary road, so there are no concerns about having to cross traffic. The trail gets steepest at the top as it nears the campground road. At this point, the pavement ends. The campground road is packed gravel in this area, but the Lakeview Connector trail is gated off and is not a trail suitable for standard wheelchairs. Water Sources Upper Lake Mary provides boating and swimming opportunities. Camping At Lakeview Campground (with fee.) Gate Policy: If a gate is closed upon arrival, leave it closed after you go through. If it is open, leave it open. Leaving a closed gate open may put cattle in danger. Closing an open gate may cut them off from water. Please be respectful, leave gates as found. The exception is signage on the gate directing you otherwise. Check out the Official Route and Triplog.
