Re: backpacking itch between xmas and new years, AZ

I'm not really familiar with the Sups, but my roommate and I are looking to camp on Flatiron for the New Year....is there any kind of loop trail that can be done with this, or is the only option up and back? I'd like to add an additional night of camping somewhere coming off Flatiron, but if not the...

Re: Current info of the trail - Havasupai

Thank you AL for the detailed information, thats exactly what I'm looking for! I think I'm leaning towards March rather than May....I'd rather deal with it being a little cold and too hot. Of course now I've gone and thrown a total wrench into things by applying for a new job, so we will see how thi...

Current info of the trail - Havasupai

Hey everyone, some of you may have seen my post on the group page on Facebook but I thought I'd try here as well. I'm looking for current info/opinions on hiking down to the falls this spring. I've made the mistake of stepping up to be the group organizer, so I'm working on scheduling this trip betw...

Tarptent Moment

Tarptent Moment, comes with additional crosspole and already seam sealed from the factory. Used on one weekend trip and set up twice in the backyard.

A great tent, but I am in need of something that packs smaller to use for bikepacking as well.

$200

Re: hiking plans and goals for 2011

I've not been very good at keeping track of my hikes the last few years, so I'm hoping to use the triplog more in 2011. I'm going with a goal of 365 miles, one mile per day, hiked this year.

Of course the rain today is kind of putting a cramp in my plan!

Re: Four Peaks Pickup Saturday February 7th 2009

Hi Writes, sorry just now getting this message. The only info I have is what I have posted at the top of this thread. I am not the organizer by any means just trying to spread the word to all the forms I am on. There is a website out there but since we aren't allowed to do outside linking I guess I ...

Re: Four Peaks Pickup Saturday February 7th 2009

TTORA has an Arizona Chapter that is pretty active. I have also had a lot of fun with the local FJ Club. AZ FJ is the website that I can't link to. :) They are both great groups, the TTORA club usually has more extreme trips that my 4Runner can't do, but the FJ club seems to do intermediate stuff t...

Re: Four Peaks Pickup Saturday February 7th 2009

I've updated the first post with the new map of the meeting area...and we will actually have dumpsters donated to us this year, rather than piling it up and waiting for the forest service to take it away like last year....which they did....eventually....after half the trash had already blown back in...

Re: Four Peaks Pickup Saturday February 7th 2009

Fantastic! Last year we had 12 clean-up sites mostly along Cline Cabin to the east and across the Beeline on 402...of course the more people we get the more area we can cover. We too always end up bringing more trash out of areas than what we bring in whether its when we hike, camp or off-road. It i...
