Re: 430+ Doing R2R Last Saturday

The entire premise seems flawed in at least one way. Many people call running is something that starts at 7 minutes per mile and faster. Most people "running" in the canyon are not, but jogging mostely downhill and walking uphill. Regarding the water, never had any problem by carrying a litre or les...

Re: Critical Theory, Critical Race Theory?

Did someone really have to bring this up? There is more than enough of this on other sites where it is discussed endlessly. Of course my solution would be for me just to go elsewhere. I thought, though, that this is a site about hiking.

@SpiderLegs
Does not have to happen that way. Too much time/mileage can be fun but degrades the body instead of strengthening it. One is either improving or getting worse. Too far, not progressing but regressing, not paying attention to increasing your strength, and that is what will happen.

@SpiderLegs
Wheeler Pk.would not be a Worthy peak but you mentioned the peaks around Durango. The day trek to Chicago Basin and climbing all of the three 14ers above it and return would be Worthy. This is not riding the non existant train service, but taking the Purgatory Trail as access.

Park further away means where? Bright Angel Lodge? I called the park and received a nebulous answer.

Not whining, but it did not work for me before, with "shelter in place," and all of the other manifestations and this will not either.

Not about being nice. It is about fast wheeled vehicles physically and mentally clashing with foot traffic. Incompatable.

@xthine
So, do not park at the trailhead. Walk in. Keep walking.
