So, is it just a big crack? Or can you explore it? Hike into it?

K, it's hard to explain, it's the that piece that sticks out, there is that plateau. So, if you take a boat around the bend, hike up to the plateau, hike across it to the huge piece that sticks out, there is a big crack in that, you can't see it from all views, but it is there.

Horse Shoe Bend

I've seen several pics of Horse Shoe Bend, and in one of them, it looks as if, you can hike up to the plateau and into the crevice that is there, but I have not seen any pics or info. support such a thing. It kinda looks like a cave. Does anyone know if you can hike into it or not?

Change of plans

Isn't is sad sometimes how life changes? I wa all set to move to AZ this Spring. Then life threw me a great big curve ball. Hey, it happens. One thing i've learned in the past year and a half is that no matter what you just have to keep chugging along. Everything happens for a reason. So, regrettabl...

Grand Falls

WOW!!! I just saw some pictures of that place. It's incredible! Just from the pictures, those falls look intense and for lack of a better word savage. That's an enormous amount of power there, and I can't wait to go. If I'm looking at the chart correctly, July or August would be the time to go, right?

I will be going with someone who is experienced we may even get a group together, and after talking to him, I think we are going to plan on an Oct. trip (early) I want to enjoy the water, not freeze my butt off. So, I should be able to go on some other hikes before this o...

Havasu falls and Salome Jug

I have seen pics of both of these places on the HAZ site and I'm dying to check them both out. They are on my wish list. Some of you that have read my posts or profile, know that I have never been on a hike as of yet. I want one of these places to be my first. What I am asking of the HAZ community i...

OUCH!! That would be my luck though. I have a question. Has anyone ever had any problems with hunters? That's a concern of mine. As an EMT, I've ran into some hunting accidents around here.

You know, I really don't care, just someplace nice. Never been there. Once I decide on a place and get there, going to need to find a group to go with of course. Any sugestions on something like? Something for a single girl that has no idea where she wants to go or what she is doing? lol

Thanks guys. I live near Wichita, but I could travel a little bit to get to some hills, may have to do that if I get time before I move. Oh yeah plan on moving to AZ in the spring. :) If not, then I will just have to start out slow. And I may be blonde, but I'm not stupid enough to go by myself. lol...
