In response to Stu3PO's reply:
I was ther last Sunday and there was plenty of water filter, however the trail was almost impassable in some spots due to broken branches from the snow.

Spelunking clubs?
I was told that there are some spelunking clubs here in Arizona. Does anyone know if there are web sites and/or how to get in touch with them? I'm tired of hiking above the ground, I'm going underground now....

White Tank History
I live way out in the west valley and have hiked every trail in the White Tanks. There are a number of archaeological sites there as well as some historical sites. Namely a stone fence along Mesquite Springs that apparently serves no purpose. Then there are ruins from an old homestead by Willow Spri...

Water etc.
Saw the deer.
I thought that climb was at least 1000ft, at least it seemed like it or I'm going nutty.
There was lots of filterable water there. I would like to go back in the fall and see if there are any edible apples.

All done
Well, that was an interesting trip. Does anyone know the exact elevation change from the bottom of Grave Canyon to the top of Reavis Saddle? In the book it says 700 feet, but I don't believe that is entirely accurate. It felt like 700,000,000,000 feet I had a bad cold, but went anyway, only really s...

Backpacking to Reavis Ranch
I'm hopefully going to be backpacking to Reavis Ranch this weekend from the Roger's Trough Trailhead. Can anyone who's been this was recently let me know if there's filterable water? If I don't have to carry 100lbs of water, I will be a happy camper!

Spur Trail
Not too far, about a mile, if that. I know there are trails that go back to the houses, but this ne head up into the hills. I'm sure it's an old jeep trail, but hikers use it.

Usery Park, Pass Mountain
I hiked out the Pass Mountain trail yesterday. I was actually on a Geocache hunt. Going in from the Horse Staging Area and hiking counter-clockwise, you took a spur trail off to the right and descended a rather respectable wash. The trail picked up on the other side and led to the area where the geo...

You take great pictures. I can't get nice shots like that with my Canon Elf, only my old trusty vintage Canon AE1.

Parking Permit
I just rembered something. In Sedona, they require a Red Rock Pass at trailheads now. I had a year round permit but it's expired. So, the first stop will be at the information office in Oak Creek to obtain permits. I think this is where we will re-group other than the McDonald's. There's nice restro...
