White Tank History

Post by Desertboots »

I live way out in the west valley and have hiked every trail in the White Tanks. There are a number of archaeological sites there as well as some historical sites. Namely a stone fence along Mesquite Springs that apparently serves no purpose. Then there are ruins from an old homestead by Willow Spring. Does anyone have any history on this, who lived there, what did they do etc etc? I just have to know. After hiking Reavis Ranch, I read everything I could on Reavis the Man and the history of that homestead. Of course the one in the White Tanks pales in comparison to Reavis' spread, but I would still like to know what went on there way back when.

Anybody?

Theres not really all that much history out there about the white tanks. I found a couple links you might be interested in though. The first two are brief geologic histories of the area. The third one has a pretty good summary of the area's recent history.
