good topic, off trail is the way to go ... I get to go places and see things that most others dont and often feel alone and MORE away from the, to put it nicely, less-than-avid-hikers ... The challenges are easier to find but require more skill to deal with and the scenery is just indescribable.

So far everywhere I've hiked in AZ I've gotten lost and loved every moment! Arizona is rugged and beautiful! My favorite lost adventures to date happen in Verde Valley/Sedona.
