I remember having to throw back 6 gar for every good fish back at the dam in Louisiana. The rock banks were almost covered with them because no one would throw them back in.

This past weekend was the first time I have ever bought a Tonto Pass - all to walk around some sidewalks, marvel at the amount of glass in the water, and see people going photographically nuts over overpopulated wild animals.

So when did you first start hiking in AZ? The timing might explain several incidences of hikers returning to the trailhead to find their cars were missing and then finding them at another trailhead.
