@kingsnake
Since the sign was posted by the water services department, I'm guessing they need to repair a water pipeline that runs under or near the bike path.

Google maps currently shows 67 south of Jacob Lake as closed. It also showed it closed last weekend but it was still open.

@louie I saw a Camry at the trailhead last summer. I would recommend high clearance, though.

Looking for some rappel sites to practice at. Somewhere between 100' and 200'. Something I can scramble to the top of without any technical climbing. 1-2 hours from Phoenix. Thanks for any ideas.

The tunnel already exists. It's near the resort's east entrance and is used for golf cart access.

Every campsite below the rim on the GC-AZT will have an ammo can to store your food. But hanging has worked fine for me outside of the corridor trails.

The permit I have is for five but I can call the BCO this week and see if they'll let me add one more. I have the group permit and the group permit for that use area is supposed to allow up to six, as I understand it. Are you still "interested" or are you ready to commit?

I could do either trailhead. Whatever the group wants. Cranberry Route could be an option too. Or the middle fork of upper Deer Creek.
We should leave Phoenix early Friday morning.

Deer Creek/Thunder River 10/28-30
Deer Creek/Thunder River Loop, October 28th to 30th. First night at Deer Creek and second night at Upper Tapeats. Total mileage is around 26 over 3 days. So far there's 3 of us (Preston, Joe, Me) going but I'd like to add 1 or 2 more. The catch is you need to have a vehicle that can get to the trail...
