Re: FR 294 Redfield Canyon

@SJFL Yes, you should have no trouble coming in on the north end of the loop near Redington to access a drop off point into Redfield Canyon in the Forester. Lot shorter that way to get to where you want to be, than coming in the way I did. The part of the canyon that gets slow going is not technica...

Re: FR 294 Redfield Canyon

@SJFL I just looked at my triplog from when I went there in 2012. We came in from the south via Cascabel, then headed eastbound on Gamez/Soza Road. This takes you pretty far east before you head north to Bradberry Cabin. After the cabin, we continued on the road northwest to the edge of the wildern...

Re: Mindless chit chat

@Jim_H Reminds me a bit of 1995. Slow start to summer rainy season, then a ridiculous heat wave at the end of July. I did get a strong thunderstorm at my house on the 30th (.62 inch and a wind gust to 60 mph), but that didn't translate into cooler temperatures or more rain. My July total was .81 in...

Re: Polle Fire

@chumley Not sarcasm. I guess I should have stated that this crew took over from whoever was initially working it, but not long after it started. They were the first type 1 team on it. These guys do incredibly tough work in sometimes insane conditions, so I have utmost respect for them. I really li...

@RedRoxx44 Type 1 team has been there for 2 weeks, but after 14 days they are required to turn it over to another team and get some rest. Today is the day the new team takes over. And don't forget, if you pull off the road as far as possible, turn off your lights and get your foot off the brake. Better yet, just shut down.
