I'm bringing a group of 9 people down to Supai early on Thursday morning, and I've just had a cancellation. Would any HAZr like to take this spot? [pricing removed--beggars can't be choosers]
UPDATE: Filled. Thx

Re: Backpacking supes solo, 1st time
IMHO . . . backpacking alone isn't a good idea. Ridin solo can turn simple setbacks or unpleasant encounters into a fatal end. But maybe it will suit you well, and it's unlikely that you'll be alone on the trails, and the conditions are dang near perfect. Read up

Re: Current conditions in the Superstitions
@Alligatorjoe I was up at Woodbury the same day @wallyfrack was there. It's passable with high clearance, but it always makes me a bit nervous. Takes some careful maneuvering if you have any care for your undercarriage. The only difference in road conditions now from other times is that there are a...

The Woodbury Trailhead is a bit easier to access, but you'd still need high clearance. I might be able to help you with this. I'll pm you if so!

Re: Havasu 2018
As Chumley hinted at, you can still just show up and perhaps hop on someone else's group permit. The best chance to get to Havasupai at this point is to join the tribe's FB group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/Havasupai/ . There are many permit-holders posting invitations for people to join thei...

Re: Flat long hikes
Well I am looking for smooth trails until my shoulder is healed. The last thing I need is to fall and try to catch my self. I recently had hand surgery, and I was concerned about the same. I've done a Rim-to-Rim and Havasupai in the last few weeks, and catching myself with my bad hand wasn't an opt...

I'll also be there next week--Thursday through Sunday. A few good spots are Dane Spring, Aspen Spring, and Coyote Spring. You can see a couple of those marked here: https://hikearizona.com/map.php?GPS=37206 You should be able to reach Aspen Spring if you're doing an interior half-loop, or you can hi...

Re: Should bikes be allowed in wilderness lands?
I'd be interested to know why you feel that way toward motorized vehicles. While not knowing your answer, I'd still ask, couldn't you use similar logic why it should be any different for mountain bikes? So far as the effect on the environment is concerned, I don't see that much difference between t...

Re: Should bikes be allowed in wilderness lands?
@friendofThundergod that's why I qualified my statement with "good" :) i know there are reasons why people wouldn't like bikes in the wilderness--i just don't find them to be very good reasons. certainly bikes leave a mark, but so do we. i'm definitely grateful that motorized vehicles are...

Yes . . . can't think of any good reason why not. Within reason, let people do what they want to do.

Bear Canyon Lake (outside of Payson, up the Woods Canyon Lake rd) is good for secluded, dispersed, car-camping.
