Camelback bike parking

Are there any designated bike racks at Echo Canyon/Cholla trailhead? Seems like there would be but I haven't been on the mountain in a long time.

Re: Mindless chit chat

It has been one of the more tolerable summers in recent memory. So much better than blazing hot, cloudless days.

Re: Is this idea feasible?

I’m not super familiar with the AZT but summer doesn’t sound like an ideal time to thru-hike. The lower elevations would not be pleasant in the heat. You’d also be dealing with monsoon storms. Section hiking might be a better option.

Surely someone else will chime in.

Thought for sure the blue car was going to get stuck against the boulder - that was intense. Those people are so lucky. I’d be soiling my pants for sure.

@cactuscat
Furnace Creek remains the worst place to fill up in Death Valley.:lol: They were charging $6 or $7 back in December.

Nikwax waterproofing

I have a comfortable pair of boots that I don't yet want to get rid of, however water eventually found its way in on their first wet hike. They aren't Goretex so Nikwax seems like a possible alternative. Any HAZers have experience with it?

Had another one of those appreciative moments walking to my car today. I’ve had my Outback for a little over 6 months and I couldn’t be happier. Stereotypes be damned, it’s an all-around great car.

Re: Chiricahuas and Smugglers

I used to avoid the ranges just north of the border and south of I-8 because of the same concerns. Boy, was I missing out. Don’t let some headlines stop you from enjoying some of the best areas in the state of Arizona.
