So sad, such a respectable person. Having Roger share his hiking adventures on HAZ was an honor.

Re: FLYING_FLIVER
Oh no. I always respected him and enjoyed the triplogs to the many off beat places he hiked. No more magic Fliver dust. RIP.

Re: FLYING_FLIVER
That is a bummer. I never met Roger; in fact I never knew his real name. However, I enjoyed reading his interesting and informative trip reports over the years. He and I hiked to many of the same peaks, although for different reasons. May he RIP and hopefully he is finding lots of wood, wires, and discs on the other side.

I agree. So thoughtful!

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.

Re: FLYING_FLIVER
I'm very sorry to hear this. I took the time to find his most recent triplog. He was doing a pretty good job of it, back on March 10. Here's the triplog and photos:
[ photoset ]
He sounds very strong in this writeup. I guess maybe it's better to go quick, all things considered.

Re: FLYING_FLIVER
Very sad to learn of FLYING_FLIVER's passing. His hiking trips and documentation were unique and enjoyable to experience. Many of us awaited his annual returns from Wisconsin to see where he would be exploring next. We learned a lot from him. He will certainly be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

Always dug his obscure peak photosets and benchmark documentation. Sad news.

Never met Flying Fliver, but always enjoyed reading his triplogs on the benchmarks he visited. I especially enjoyed all the work he put into finding the Frustums at the border of Maricopa and Yavapai county. RIP

Re: FLYING_FLIVER
I am so sorry to hear this. He really contributed a lot to this community and really kicked butt on bagging those peaks. I'll remember him every time I look at a benchmark. He was always delighted to answer questions about the mountains he hiked too. He will be missed. He is certainly on a higher plane now.
