Osprey Aether 70 hardware FREE
I destroyed my Osprey pack last week ](*,) I had it in the trunk of my car, full of gear and then my car died! I replaced my battery on the spot. I put the bad battery in the trunk and drove off. Two days later I removed the bad battery and never gave it a second thought. WELL, today I was unloading...

Re: Joe Bartels hiking injury
I've been away from the website for quite a while, I'm so sorry to hear of your injuries but I couldn't be happier to here that you're doing well. You've given me so much through this website and its corresponding community, I feel like I know you but unfortunately we've never met. I hope nothing bu...

Re: Digital Cameras
I'M SO EXCITED!!! :GB: I've finally bought a KILLER CAMERA! I bought the Nikon P610 :D I was just wandering if anyone has used this camera and if so, how did (or do) you like it? I was also curious if anyone has used the UV and polarize filter that can be used with this camera and what do you think ...

I'm no fool [-X If my wife says " gone on without me" THAT'S A TRAP!!! :scared:  On the serious side, to me the determining factor is time . If there is still more than 2 hour, I think I'd turn back with everyone. It's not always a bad thing... Just a little more time at the after hike bar ;)

Those laundry mats sound awesome ;) The ones in my hood aren't quite that nice. They're more like concealed weapons, screaming kids and beggarschumley wrote: Plus, they have TVs with soap operas and sports. Plus free wifi. And college girls (results may vary depending on where you live).

Re: Down gear care
@gummo It's not the wash that takes time, it's the dry. To get the loft back into the down, it needs to be dried on very low temperatures until totally dry. Which could take 3-4 dry cycles for each item. It's funny you mentioned Goodwill. All three of these are thrift store purchases. I buy high en...

Down gear care
I need some help :-s I have several item(2 sleeping bags and a parka) that need to be cleaned. I've done my research and I've even bought special down soap and treatment but now that I have everything I need, the prospect of spending 6 to 10 hours(maybe more) at a laundry mat has me questioning if i...

Re: Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act
With the kind of money they are talking about, I have no doubt that this mining operation will happen :( But.... What I found encouraging is the fact that if and that's a BIG "IF" everything goes the way that the mining company wants it to, mining wouldn't start for 10 years ( 2026 ) :D In the unsta...

Re: Best place to grab a post-hike craft beer
I know this isn't a "microbrewery" but 4 Sons @ Cave Creek & Carefree has upgraded their beer selection A LOT! This is one of my regular stops for beer on the way home and today I was pleasantly surprised to find 10-12 new VERY good beers(bottle & can) in the freezer. Now... they're a little pricey ...

Re: Wanted: Photos of you next to a Wilderness sign!
Yelp reviews say AZW is too hipster. I quess :-k ... I'm a "hipster" than because I found the atmosphere to be prefect(and I have a beard)! The wait staff are as good, if not better than many HIGH END eateries I've been to and the restaurant itself (although small)is very inviting. Now, the majorit...

Re: Witness Information Requested
Just a heads up to everyone ;) I have had at least 3 4X4 patrol Tahoe come into my shop with damage to the tire while driving on dirt roads( police officers words, which means "no bushes or trees in front of the vehicle") From the look of the damage to the tire, someone is putting fence posts in the...
