I am planning to hike superstition (5057) from Carney Springs on saturday. Anyone know if this area is closed due to the crash? I am not from the area and not sure how close 5024 is to 5057 and what areas are closed.

I am going to be in the Phoenix area this weekend and I want to bag Superstition while I am there. I would like to hike it from Peralta Road-Carney Springs but I will have the family sedan. Is this road paved or at least graded dirt? Would I be better off hiking the hieroglyph route if I am limited ...
