For an edge with a view--how about Flat Iron? West view of the metropolis below is pretty cool.

Re: buckskin gulch shuttle
OK--spoke to the guest ranch--they said they didn't do the shuttle. I spoke with the gal down at Lee's Ferry. She said she could do it but that it cost more due to her distance. I spoke with Steve at Paria Outpost---up to 4 people for $75 dollars--$25 for each additional person beyond 4. Steve also ...

Re: Water Northern Supes
Water had a great flow. I went in at Tortilla Creek just east of Tortilla Flat. Water was cool but not frigid. Traveled Tortilla up to the Peters Canyon "Y". I stayed in Tortilla up past Hells Fire Spring (not sure that's ther exact name) water was very plentiful. Saw 2 Western Diamondback...

Snow on the four peaks?
Sorry for asking the obvious but I do not trust my eyes... Has anybody been up to Brown's Peak since Christmas? The reason I ask is I can not tell if I am seeing snow up there or not. I would like to hit the chute and get up to Brown's Peak in the snow. If anybody has current snow info for Brown's P...

Aravaipa night time temps June
Short notice. No worries--probably my loss. Question: Anyone been in Aravaipa within last month that can give me an idea about night time temps. I am looking for current on the ground data. I am trying to decide which of my bags to take for an over night tomorrow....could use a little feedback from ...

The area that Nighthiker mentioned is an area where I go as well. Grab a star chart and head North from the US 60 on any of the little FR or trails, to reduce the little traffic noise there is and it can feel like worlds away from Phoenix. The light pollution from the city is not too bad for an amat...

I am with Matt on this one.... I do not use a tent or tarp. I folded a sheet in half; sewed three sides for a "summer bag" and use a sleeping bag off summer. However I do like a pad if I feel like strapping it on my pack. Never worry about the critters though....I know they are there but f...

They are resurfacing the asphalt section right now, so don't let it confuse you. Just head west, the TH is marked 3/4 mile before hand and the parking area is very obvious. The dirt portion of the road starts a few miles in at a big western bend in the road. To get to your question about the road, I...
