Found this the other day: https://hikearizona.com/photo.php?ZIP=858594 The camera itself is in bad shape but I was able to pry the battery door open and remove/clean the sd card and presto!! Pix were dated late 2011-early 2012. I was hoping for climbing pictures on Three Sisters but there were none ...

So sorry to hear that we lost such a wonderful person, friend and HAZ'er. I never met John but through your comments I feel as if I had. My deepest sympathies to all his friends and especially his family.

The tree trunk was still there and usable a couple weeks ago when I was up there (I used it coming down!). Not sure what happened to the rest of the tree!!

Just wondering if anybody knows of a good spot to park back in the neighborhood between Mining Camp & Broadway trailheads? Anything around Pioneer St. or Shiprock St? Looking at satellite maps, there are several prominent trails heading towards the mountains, especially near the end of Greasewoo...

nonot beat me to it with that pic! near the top left of the "U" looks like it may have potential without being too far from the spring. The spring was full of water and it was flowing into some other pools that looked very clear, so I would think you'd be fine but I have very limited backp...

Costco down here (CC & Baseline) has 2-packs for around $25 again. Fully adjust, shock and extended grips. Mine weight about 1/2 lb each, got them last year and they've been great, especially having the extended grip. Not that that helps you up there! But maybe you have some Valley connections!?...

Just an FYI if you're headed into the Village: the area around the cabins/dirt parking lot west of the lodges and south of Kolb Studio is closed for construction/paving. Check the NPS website for the complete map!

I was just there on Sunday and had to use the shuttle that runs on the weekends. It's $5 round-trip/person. It is located on the SE corner of Invergorden/Lincoln (watch for the signs). You call when you get down and they swing over to pick you up, if they aren't already there! Pretty nice deal, beat...
