Which hike are you talking about, the hike in the canyons, or the hike along the rims of the two canyons? My, SAMBA (aka LaFong) canyons hike, http://hikearizona.com/map.php?GPS=9987, was done in the canyons proper and had 972 aeg, whereas the "official route", http://hikearizona.com/map....

This is about 300' less than the GE figure which I suspect may be AEG.
