Re: 2024 Fire Season
There is a Go Fund Me to help the families who lost their homes in San Carlos from the Watch Fire https://gofund.me/6a587767 . If you don't have it already, I highly recommend getting the Watch Duty app on your phone. It is free and it provides real time wildfire alerts. You can select which countie...

@DixieFlyer
Thanks for the heads up about O RO ranch. I'll look into that. That's the kind of thing that I would like to avoid or it could be the type of thing that deters me from a hike like this.

Aquarius Mountains
Does anyone have any experience traveling through and hiking in the Aquarius Mountains? It is all checkerboarded state trust land and private. I am interested in exploring the area just east of Austin Peak. There's lots of pictures of it on this real estate listing https://www.realtor.com/realestate...

Re: Hiker Fined $300K for starting wildfire
I agree with holding people responsible for starting wildfires but this sentence does not seem proportionate to the amount of damage done when you consider that the man who started the Pipeline fire in Flagstaff only got sentenced to a year of probation. The Sycamore fire burned 230 acres while the ...

Re: Aircraft wreck site, Horton Creek area, Payson [ Missing ]
I read this forum and became interested. After a bit of Googling I came across a link to the original poster Chris' website https://aircraftwrecks.com/TBM%20Payson%20AZ%206.15.1961.pdf . It looks like someone showed him where it was back in 2017. Also when I was searching I came across another websi...

Upon further inspection I now do not know if this is a painting or blurry photo. Either way any info about it would be much appreciated.

Photo of Apache-Sitgreaves
I stumbled upon the Apache-Sitgreaves' Flickr account https://www.flickr.com/photos/apachesitgreavesnf/ . There's lots of amazing photos of that beautiful forest. One in particular https://www.flickr.com/photos/apachesitgreavesnf/16101305569/ caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone knew where th...

Southern Utah High Elevation Hikes
Good Evening, The wife and I have some time off next week and were hoping to get away to some cooler temperatures at higher elevation with less chance of rain. We're looking into places within about 6 hours of Flagstaff. It looks like the White Mountains will be getting rain and thunderstorms everyd...

Re: Road Access to Trailheads along Mogollon Rim
I don't know if there is legal camping at the Pine TH. If you can't camp there you can for sure camp on the west side of the 87 almost directly across from Pine TH. Take FR 1006 which is just over half a mile south from Pine TH down the 87. There's a large open dirt parking area you can camp in or g...

Re: Galiuro East Divide Trailhead road conditions
Thank you for all the replies. I am referring to the East Creek Divide Trailhead that is located off of FR 660. My wife told me about volunteer wilderness solitude monitoring opportunities through the Arizona Wilderness Coalition. It seems like a good excuse to go out to the Galiuros which I've only...

Galiuro East Divide Trailhead road conditions
Good Evening,
The wife and I are considering going out to the East Divide Trail in the Galiuros and we're wondering if anyone had any information about road conditions. We have an Outback and a GMC 2500 (which unfortunately isn't 4wd).
Thank you very much,
Jake

Pinaleno Recommendation for 1 night and 2 days.
Good Afternoon, I'm looking for any recommendations on a loop to do in the Pinalenos this week for 1 night and two days backpacking. It is to my understanding that some trails in the Pinalenos are impassable from fire damage or just too overgrown. Preferably I'd be looking for a hike in the 15-25ish...

Re: Royal Arch Route Trip Coming Up...
My friends and I drove out to South Bass on March 27th. This was our first time out there but the road wasn't bad. I do not recall the road being wet at all. Overall the road was slow going but nothing crazy. We took a Tacoma out but there was an older model Subaru Outback parked at the trailhead to...
