Photo of Apache-Sitgreaves

Post by OllieDood »

I stumbled upon the Apache-Sitgreaves' Flickr account https://www.flickr.com/photos/apachesitgreavesnf/. There's lots of amazing photos of that beautiful forest. One in particular https://www.flickr.com/photos/apachesit ... 101305569/ caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone knew where this picture was taken. I would guess somewhere along The Blue or San Fransisco River but hoped someone could narrow the area down. Thanks.

Upon further inspection I now do not know if this is a painting or blurry photo. Either way any info about it would be much appreciated.

@JakeG I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the photo is not taken in the A-SNF. Or even in Arizona.
It IS a photo, not a painting. It was taken with an iPhone 6 in 2014. There are other photos taken by the same camera on the same date -- 20 minutes earlier -- of a lake that I can't identify. Find the lake ... and you'll easily be able to figure out the subject of the photo you are interested in.

A clue to location is the fall color. On 9/28, aspens that look like that may be best found in Colorado.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I spent awhile trying to align the features but I could not identify the location. It seems too Granite-y to be along the Blue, and the Blue river cut a canyon wider than is shown. I would have guessed the Gila National Forest, if this was pixel trivia.
