Kite String

So someone sent me a link for an app called Kite String, Its kind of a neat concept, you enter your information with app and they check on you, if you don't reply they send a pre-made message to certain people to notify you did not come home, check in, or are late to arrive.

I think its more for single women living on their own in big cities with long walks home, or college kids to keep families at ease when they are out on the town etc..but I think it could have some merit in hiking world, for us non family types ;)

I know obvious answer is just let a loved one know where you are at, however, I know I have spoke with other HAZers and I know for myself too many times I have gotten to a TH early Sat. morning and been like shoot, did I even tell anyone where I was going? Anyways, its way less personal but perhaps kite string would be an additional asset for those who sneak out of town at last minute, and might forget to let someone know where they are going..although, I dont know if the app was intended for hiking world, so maybe it is not as practical..

Although, lately for me because of HAZ I always feel like at least one or two people kind of know where I am going..
