Wanted: Photos of you next to a Wilderness sign!
As some of you may know, HAZ member jonnybackpack has opened Gilbert's first brewery, the Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company.
The decor features a rustic outdoor theme, and the walls are lined with awesome nature photography. Beers and menu items are named after wilderness areas in Arizona.
In the hallway leading to the restrooms, the pub has begun to allow visitors to post photos of themselves visiting Wilderness Areas.
Do you want to be famous?! I will donate the 19¢ to print a 4x6 if you send me a link (if it's on HAZ or elsewhere online) or PM me your photo file and give me permission to tack it to their wall! (There are already 15-20 photos up and some feature HAZzers!)
Of course, the preferred option would be for you to bring in your own photo, put it on the wall yourself, and then enjoy a pint or two over a tasty burger.
Photos should include hikers (preferably you) in front of a sign designating a wilderness area. (Example: http://hikearizona.com/photo=303286).
If you have photos of out-of-state wilderness signs, that's ok too. I think there are 3-4 in AZ that will be very well represented. The less-frequently visited ones will be nice to see too. So while a sign without people in it is not preferred, if you have one that says Aleutian Islands Wilderness or something similar, I don't think there would be many complaints even if it is just a sign with no hikers in it.
For the record, there are 88 Wilderness Areas in Arizona. It would be neat if eventually there were photos from all of them!

Re: Wanted: Photos of you next to a Wilderness sign!
9 months in, the wall at azw has birthed the following:
62 photos
17 wilderness areas
1 Machu Picchu while wearing an azwilderness shirt
16 Superstition
5 Kachina
4 Cedar Bench
Pine Mountain
3 Mazatzal
Apache Creek
Red Rock Secret Mountain
2 Granite Mountain
Juniper Mesa
Saddle Mountain
1 Sierra Ancha
Hellsgate
Kendrick
Salome
Miller Peak
Plus two non-az wildernesses
John Muir
Agua Tibia
And yes. I know the math doesn't add up. Don't ask questions.
By quick count I see 37 different HAZ members, and two dogs (Daisy and Blanco).
Get your photos in! Either print and bring to the pub, or post here or send me a pm and I'll do print them for you.

Less visited wildernesses such as Cedar Bench, Juniper Mesa, and Apache Creek are over represented because Jon and the legend of Pat Rick have been on trips there. Maybe you should go too!?
But you'd think we'd have more Mazatzal photos. And Sierra Ancha. (Richard? Lee? Larry? Hank?) ;)

Siphon draw isn't a wilderness area. It's in the superstition wilderness. There are quite a few photos there.

Re: Wanted: Photos of you next to a Wilderness sign!
desertgirl got one of all of us at the Four Peaks Wilderness sign (which I don't see on your list)

And tibber got one of me and Shawn (but it's in a collage here, maybe she'd be willing to separate it out "for the cause" ;) )

Re: Wanted: Photos of you next to a Wilderness sign!
Good to see Tibber got right on it and the guys posted the pictures of Tracy (paintninaz). We stopped by there today for lunch with Tracy's daughter and son-in-law. Hopefully the trauma of seeing her mother's photo plastered on a bar room wall won't have any lasting negative implications for the young woman. ;)

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
