Cibecue Creek, AZ :: Canyoneering Experience

Is this doable if you do not have canyoneering experience or gear?

Anyone can hike up from the bottom, no gear required. From the top requires rappelling and a licensed guide, who can provide the gear and the expertise, but its not cheap. A quick search found http://www.thecenterfocus.com offering guided trips for $245 per person. I've heard its a cool canyon, not sure if its that cool though. You'd want good flowing conditions too, but with the dry winter it may be too late for this year.

Hiking up to the first falls (1.5 mi +/- if memory serves) is merely a creek-walk and all that is required is a recreation permit.
Theoretically, if you climb above this first falls you are supposed to be guided. This first falls is the first impediment and can be climbed on creek-left LDS about 40' downstream of this first falls. - there are 2 more impediments above this falls - both non-technical, although the 3rd one may require a 'boost'. Last time I was there, there was a fixed rope here. Under no circumstance( short of impending dehydration) would I suggest that one drink the water in Cibeque Creek. Gasoline, Oil, fertilizer, feces, you get the idea.....
