Bear Canyon Lake Access
I see that there is access to Bear Canyon Lake to the East and the West. It looks like the East access has a road going down to the lake that would be good for launching the kayaks. I see parking on the west side, but looks like a steep downclimb. Not sure if both roads are open. Any insight on kayaking/boating Bear Canyon.
This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.

@Rick Vincent
The road down the east side is gated closed just below the switchback/gravel pit. You can walk down but it's still a bit of a hike. I don't recall which side would be easier to carry a kayak. But there is definitely no vehicle access at bear canyon.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

@chumley
Read your post, and after a closer look at the East access, I think I can see a gate across the road....its about 0.15 miles from the water's edge. Not too bad. I've got a group of 6 going on Sunday. Meeting up in Payson around 9:30am. Let me know if you would like to join.

Re: Bear Canyon Lake Access
I've carried a boat from the east gate. Not bad.
Someone let me borrow their wheelie thing on the way up. We had 4 people's stuff in the boat
