Best Section Of The BCT

Post by SpiderLegs »

Thinking about running a section of the BCT this weekend. From the few posted trip reports I have seen it appears that you want to avoid the sections closer to town if you are not into dodging stray bullets. I've already run the section that goes by Sunset Point and liked it. Any votes for the best section to attack? Will be doing an out and back run on whatever section I pick.

I've run the stretch between Bumble Bee and Black Canyon City. If you go that direction, it is mostly downhill, but there are some good climbs to keep you honest. I'd definitely recommend it, on scenic grounds. Never had much trouble with running into anyone else out there, and it's probably still too warm for the majority of mountain bikers.

Since you're doing an out-and-back, though, it might be a little nicer starting/ending from Black Canyon City.

@sbkelley
Think I'll start in Black Canyon City. Plus I can grab a piece of pie when I'm done.

Pie isn't as good there as it used to be since Penny retired...

Did she retire? or pass away?
I've heard both... and she took her recipes with her (either way)
