Flagstaff Developed Campgrounds???

Post by cholla »

A few friends and I are planning to camp in Flagstaff and hike Humphries in a few weeks. We are excited, it will be our first time! We need a place to camp for a couple of nights - and we would like a developed campground with toilets and showers if possible. I could do without these things, but the women in our group would prefer them! Does anyone have recommendations or knowledge of any campgrounds in the Flagstaff / Humphries area for such a campsite? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you want showers also, I believe the only option is a KOA campground.....

In response to cholla's reply:

My phone book lists:
Woody Mountain--928 774 7727
KOA 1 800 KOAFLAG

That is all there are listed with showers

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone have any experience with these campgrounds? Good/bad/indifferent? Thanks again.

They are highly developed privately owned "campgrounds". Some don't allow tents....they are set up kind of like parking lots  "camping" spots are usually all the same size and you have some very close next door neighbors....but...they do have showers.....I stayed in a couple on the way up to Alaska, just so I could use the hot shower.
