Second Water Q

Post by matthewkphx »

I'm headed out to the Superstitions next weekend with some scouts. I've been told that Second Water Spring is a reliable source of water by someone I know and trust but the spring report here shows just a drip last in the most recent report (last November). Is Second water a reliable source of water?

I've never seen it dry. Right now there's tons of water at Second Water Spring and then you'll have plenty of water in Boulder Canyon which is just a stone's throw away.

@Tough_Boots
Consider updating the "Second Water Spring" report with your known status since it hasn't been updated since Nov'14 ;)

Where are you planning to camp? There are nice camp sites near the junction of 2nd water and boulder canyon trail. There is water just about everywhere right now. 2nd water has a pool with fish in it as well, saw it Sunday, flowing nicely.

@ALMAL
Were also there fish in it when you left or only when you got there? :whistle:

I camped @ Second Water spring 2 weekends ago, as has always been the case for me, there was/is abundant water. It is a worthwhile jaunt to hike up the creek-bed from where it is crossed by the First/Second Water trail, some nice, short slick-rock sections leading up to the spring proper.
